Mitsubishi Power EMEA provides after-sales engineering and technical support for the operation and maintenance of gas turbines, steam turbines, generators, control systems and auxiliary systems across the region. As a Graduate Control System Engineer, you will join the Engineering Department and support the delivery of technical solutions for customers’ control systems, with a focus on reliability, availability, safety and cybersecurity.
This is a development-focused role for a recent graduate or early-career engineer with a degree in Instrumentation and Control, Systems Engineering, Automation, Software Engineering or a related discipline. You will work alongside experienced engineers to support control system design, troubleshooting, upgrades, documentation, testing and site implementation. Over time, you will develop technical capability across Mitsubishi Power control systems, industrial networks, digital solutions, cybersecurity, gas turbines, steam turbines, generators and associated auxiliary systems.
What will you do in the role?
Support the operation and maintenance of Mitsubishi Power control systems for gas turbines, steam turbines, generators and relevant auxiliary systems during scheduled outages, forced outages and normal operation.
Work with the Control System team to provide design, implementation, troubleshooting and technical support for customers’ control system-related issues.
Assist with fault identification, problem-solving and technical investigation relating to control systems, instrumentation, auxiliary systems and industrial equipment.
Support hardware and software solutions to update, modify and upgrade customer control systems.
Participate in site work to apply control system upgrades, update equipment and support the implementation of technical solutions.
Support on-site commissioning activities by referring to relevant diagrams, manuals, specifications, procedures and control system documentation.
Verify, maintain and troubleshoot control systems, auxiliary systems and instrumentation to help ensure correct device functionality.
Assist with control logic, configuration, programming, testing and validation activities under the guidance of experienced engineers.
Support control system upgrade projects, including Mitsubishi Power systems and other customer control system environments.
Contribute to activities relating to TOMONI, Mitsubishi Power’s integrated digital solutions platform, including promotion, installation and technical implementation support.
Support cybersecurity-related control system activities, including cybersecurity packages, Windows upgrades, network-related improvements and control system resilience.
Prepare technical reports, procedures, specifications and other engineering documents in line with the company quality management system.
Support sales and tendering activities by providing technical information and documentation for requests for quotation, purchase orders and customer proposals, under the instruction of senior engineers.
Work with colleagues across Engineering, Programme Management, Commercial, Tendering and other internal teams to support customer requirements and business opportunities.
Travel to power station sites for control system-related work as required.
Support customer emergency issues when needed, including occasional off-hours or weekend support where operational circumstances require a rapid response.
