About the Role
We are currently recruiting reliable and proactive Bank Caretakers to support the day-to-day operation and maintenance of school sites across Sheffield. This is a flexible, as-needed role ideal for individuals seeking work that can fit around other commitments while contributing to the smooth running of educational environments.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out routine site inspections to ensure the premises remain safe, secure, and well-maintained
- Undertake basic maintenance and repair tasks across school buildings and grounds
- Ensure school facilities are clean, tidy, and ready for daily use
- Open and secure school premises as required
- Monitor and report maintenance issues, hazards, or security concerns to the appropriate supervisor
- Assist with room setups, furniture movement, and preparation for school events and activities
- Maintain external areas including pathways, entrances, and outdoor spaces
- Follow all health and safety procedures and site-specific regulations
- Previous caretaker, facilities, maintenance, or site support experience preferred but not essential
- Ability to carry out basic maintenance and practical tasks safely and effectively
- Strong awareness of health and safety practices
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable, punctual, and flexible approach to work
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
